The Board is proposing amendments to the club’s Constitution and Bylaws.
Most of the proposed revisions won’t change the way the club operates, but rather will better reflect the way it currently operates. Examples of these revisions are deleting the reference to our “working co-operatively with Cross Country Canada” (we don’t subscribe to their services), the elimination of the section that stated “there shall be the following standing committees” and then listing 9 committees (none of which we have), and the inclusion of our snowshoe trails.
There are also some corrections to errors, an example of which is the conflict between “in order to vote … members must be in attendance” and “any voting member … will be entitled to cast one (1) proxy vote.” We will allow proxy votes.
Other revisions are to change the voting age from 19 to 18 – which matches the age for an adult membership. We also changed the quorum at Board meetings from 4, which seemed low given that we can have 15 Directors, to “a majority of the current number of Directors.”
The Board believes that these revisions won’t change the way our club operates, but are necessary to better support the way we do operate and to correct some errors and areas of confusion. As per our Constitution and Bylaws, these amendments require a majority vote at our general club meeting in order to be enacted.

Wasi Cross Country Ski Club is a small club located about 20 minutes south of North Bay, Ontario - close to Callander and Astorville. 17 kms of ski trails and 7 kms of snowshoe trails meander through a mix of hardwood and conifers. The ski trails are classically groomed and track set. Our expanded network of snowshoe trails is in its second year. Access skiing or snowshoeing or both on your membership or day pass.
Day users are most welcome or join our club!
You can use the trails and chalet all week long during the winter season. A bulletin board with trail conditions and other announcements is posted on the building along with a thermometer and trail map. Trail maps are posted at the chalet and at each trail intersection. A sign-in sheet, maps, membership applications, and a daily fees drop box are available inside the chalet.
Hours: 7 days during daylight hours
All our ski trails are groomed for classic skiing only. Unfortunately, we do not provide ski rentals.
From North Bay, take Hwy 11 south to the second exit (#329): Lake Nosbonsing Rd/Hwy 654.
Turn left (heading east) towards Astorville. Follow this road about 4 km over a set
of railway tracks. About 1.5 km after the tracks, you will
see the ski club on your left at 907 Lake Nosbonsing Rd.
